Tim was one of the most knowledgeable and passionate people I have known. He was a very friendly guy, never pretentious and consistently hilarious. He will be missed deeply.

I'd nearly forgotten how much he loved the Pernice Brothers.
There will be a memorial service Friday, March 21st at the Friends Meeting, 5 Long Fellow Park (off Brattle, near Harvard Square) at 3PM.
There has been too much death about lately. I wish it would stop.

Tim had a huge influence on my life. Although I knew of his great knowledge in Black Studies, it was a love of music we shared. I LOVED talking music with him. It was like we would talk in code. Both of us would talk faster and faster, excited that someone else knew the obscure tracks we were referencing, each gleaning some new musical tidbit we would explore later online. I will forever remember him fondly, and will never play a track he turned me onto without thinking of him. ---Carl Thien
